OAKBORO — Mrs. Maggie Ellen Tucker, 90, of Rt. 1, Oakboro, died in Stanly County Hospital this morning. She was born Sept. 28, 1882 in Stanly County to the late Aaron and Sarah Hatley Furr. Mrs. Tucker was married to the late Lewis Monroe Tucker. Survivors include three sons, Caldwell L. Tucker of Rt. 2, Norwood, Gillion Tucker of Oakboro and Raymond Tucker of Locust; two daughters, Mrs. Lonnie Burgess and Mrs. M. L. Whitley, both of Oakboro; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She was a member of Smith Grove Primitive Baptist Church where the funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. by Elder Cliff Allen and Elder W. C. Whitley. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lonnie Burgess at 4 p.m. Wednesday from Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle.
