ALBEMARLE ~ A. Oscar Furr, 58, died in Greensboro Tuesday. A native of Stanly County, he was a son of the late Goodwin and Louise Morton Furr. He formerly lived and worked at Robbins. He was a member of Canton Baptist Church near Albemarle. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Canton Baptist Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. 0. H. Bolch. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Lambert Furr; four daughters, Mrs. Carol Almond, Albemarle, Route 4, Mrs. Ralph Newman and Mrs. Glenn Nall of Greensboro and Mrs. Hugh Johnson of Rose Hill; one son, Van of Candor, and one sister, Mrs. Ed S. Burlesin of Albemarle, Route 4.The News and Observer, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 24, 1956
