Death
CANDOR - Vann C. Furr, 71, of Route 2 died Sunday, April 3, 1994, at Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, after a three month illness. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 at Macedonia Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Graham Fowler. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Furr was born August 4, 1922, in Stanly County to Oscar Furr and Sarah Lambert Furr. He was retired from the Research and Development Department of Gilead Mfg. Co., and operated Furr's Machine Service. He was a member of Macedonia Presbyterian Church. Surviving are wife, Alberta Kellis Furr of the home; sons, Darrell Furr, Nelson Furr, and Tim Furr, all of Candor; daughters, Mrs. Judy Hurley of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Gina Kennedy of Star, Mrs. Janice McCaskill of Candor; sisters, Mrs. Vernie Almond of Albemarle, Mrs. Jackie Johnson of Rose Hill and Mrs. Selma Tucker of South Carolina; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
