CANDOR -- Alberta Kellis Furr, age 85 died April 11, 2008. Funeral 2pm Sunday, at Macedonia Presbyterian Church. Visitation following the service. Briggs-Candor Funeral Home entrusted. Published in the Charlotte Observer on 4/13/2008.

CANDOR — Alberta Kellis Furr, 85, formerly of Furrville Road, died Friday, April 11, 2008, at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Macedonia Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Mark Fisher and the Rev. Fred Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She was a native of Montgomery County and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vann C. Furr. Surviving are sons, Darrell Furr of Troy, Nelson Furr, Tim Furr, both of Candor; daughters, Judy Hurley of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Gina Kennedy of Star, Janice McCaskill of Eagle Springs; sister, Joan Jackson of Asheville; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. The family will see friends at the residence following the service. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of Macedonia Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 340, Candor, NC 27229. Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
