Death
CONCORD — Mrs. Lectie Arbell Blackwelder, 83, of Rt. 1 died Sunday night at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p. m. Tuesday at Roberta Methodist Church by ‘Elder C. M. Mills and Rev. C. C. Phillips. The body was to be taken from Hartsell Funeral Home to the residence at 4 p. m. today and will be taken to the church to lie in state half an hour prior to the rites. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Blackwelder was born in Stanly County April 14, 1883, daughter of the late Wilson M. Furr and Mrs. Frances Little Furr. She was a member of the Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Carl Dexter Blackwelder, Sr.; 6 sons, T. D., J. W., W. A., J. R., T. E., and C. D. Blackwelder, Jr., all of Concord; 4 daughters, Mrs. Roy Fisher of Rockwell, Mrs. Charlie Overman of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. W. R. Foster and Mrs. Marshall Fisher, both of Concord; 29 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.Independent Tribune, Concord, North Carolina, December 19, 1966
