Death
Carolyn Jane Furr Taylor, of Salisbury, NC passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at her residence. Born March 26, 1938 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Allison Weaver Furr and Nettie B. Keziah. Mrs. Taylor attended Odell High School. She worked as a receptionist for Rowan Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of World Hope Worship Center in Salisbury. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Taylor is preceded in death by her brothers, Vance, Thad, Paul, Bruce and Rodney Furr; and sisters, Sarah Miller, Louise McAbee; and great-grandchild, Hannah Sophia Owens. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, William “Bill” Taylor, whom she married December 18, 1955; daughter, Sherry Houpt (Kris); sons, William Randall “Randy” Taylor (Karen), Jonathan Scott Taylor (Rena); brother, A.W. “Bucky” Furr Jr.; grandchildren, Bethany Owens (Chance), Taylor Oyola (Jaime), William Taylor (Brooke), Jessica Olson (Adric), Drew Taylor (Juvi); great-grandchildren, Winsley Owens, Zoe Oyola, Bennett Olson, Ensley and Caelan Edison. Graveside service will be held at 1PM, September 14, 2022 at Rowan Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Bob Bankhead officiating. The family will visit with friends following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rowan Helping Ministries, 226 N Long St, Salisbury, NC 28144. Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Taylor family.Endnotes
