KANNAPOLIS - Dorothy Louise McAbee, died July 13, 2008 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis with the Rev. Blair Bridle officiating. Interment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. The family will receive friends 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home. Mrs. McAbee was born Jan. 6, 1931 in Union County the daughter of the late A.W. Furr Sr. and the late Nettie Keziah Furr. She was a retired home health care giver for many years. She was a member of West Point Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing guitar with various gospel groups in the area and at local nursing homes. She also enjoyed traveling. Her husband, William A. McAbee preceded her in death on March 9, 1990. Survivors include her son, Eddie Frazier of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Brandy, Matthew, Tarah and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Kierstyn, Dalton, Katie and Chloe; sister, Carolyn Taylor of Salisbury; and brother, A.W.
