Death
Lester L. Furr ...retired IRS official A funeral was held Jan. 17 in the chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home for Lester L. Furr of 4233 Robin Dr. The Rev. Warren Black and the Rev. William (Bill) Wymond officiated. Furr, 73, died Jan. 16 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. A native of Brookhaven, he had resided in Jackson since 1953. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and was a retired chief of intelligence for the IRS. He is survived by his wife, nee Lucretia Livingston of Prentiss; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Frances) Wesley of Poplarville and Mrs. Alan (Chellie) Davis of Jackson; a son, Lester L. Furr of Atlanta; a sister, Mrs. Si Parkman of Brookhaven; and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Pallbearers were Virgil Priester, Merrill Mann, Allen Davis, Bob Wesley, Bob Wesley and Les Furr. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park.The Northside Sun, Jackson, Mississippi, January 19, 1984
