Death
BROOKHAVEN — Mrs. Lillian Furr Harris, 48, of Brookhaven died at her residence at 5 a. m. Friday after an illness of four months. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Miriah Baptist Church of which she was an active member. The Rev. Lewis Rhodes will officiate, assisted by the Rev. A. Marvin Sanders. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery with Brookhaven Funeral Home in Charge. Born in Copiah county, Mrs. Harris had been a Brookhaven resident most of her life. She was a graduate of Franklin County High School and had attended the Baptist Bible Institute in New Orleans. She had earlier worked for newspapers in Jacksonville, Fla., and Kansas Citv, Mo. She was Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Women’s Missionary Society at Mt. Moriah church. She leaves her husband Robert Harris, her mother, Mrs. Emma Furr, Brookhaven, two brothers, Colon Furr of Detroit, Lester Furr of Roanoke, and two half brothers, D. D. Furr Memphis and L. M. Furr, Houston Tex. and three sisters, Mrs. Si Parkman, Brookhaven, Mrs. Flake Young, San Angelo, Tex. and Mrs. John R. Bernhard, Clarence, N.Y.Endnotes
