Death
The Buffalo Courier-Express of Tuesday, November 20, lists the passing of Mrs. John Bernhard. John Bernhard was physical education instructor in the Caledonia school for several years around 1940. Mrs. Bernhard and Mrs. David Sheldon reorganized the choir of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Bernhard possessed a lovely soprano voice which she used on numerous occasions in the community to the great delight of her listeners. From the Buffalo paper: Edna Earle Bernhard (nee Furr), died suddenly in Clarence, N.Y., Nov. 19, 1956, beloved wife of John, daughter of Mrs. Emma Furr of San Angelo, Texas; sister of Mrs. Flake Young of San Angelo, Mrs. Malcolm Parkman of Brookhaven, Miss., and Colin Furr of Detroit, Mich. Friends received at the Shepard Bros. Funeral Home, 9872 Main St., Clarence, where funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock. Flowers gratefully declined. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Bernhard may be made to Diabetic Clinic of Buffalo General Hospital. Interment in Palmyra.Caledonia Advertiser, Thursday, November 22, 1956
