Her funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, in Tabernacle United Methodist Church Rev. Daniel H. Wilson will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park. Born October 24,1911 in Stanly County, N.C. she was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Nezzie Florence Burleson Furr. She was married to the late James Monroe Carpenter. 1 son Melvin “Mel” Edward Carpenter of Ocala, FL. 2 sisters Mildred Furr Carmichael of Charlotte, NC and Mary Furr Broadway of Harrisburg, NC 4 grandchildren 6 great-grandchildren MEMORIALS: Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 132 Church Street, Albemarle,NC,28001 The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. The body will remain at the funeral home until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the hour of service.
