Death
Death of a Fine Citizen.Mr. Rankin Furr of Wesson, died at the Baptist Hospital, Jackson, last Saturday, and was buried Sunday afternoon from the Baptist church in Wesson. Mr. Furr was a prominent citizen of this section and enjoyed the esteem and affection of an extraordinary large circle of friends. His funeral was one of the largest ever held In Wesson. Mr. Furr had recently been assisting his son-in-law, Mr. E. E. Miers, in the management of a large farm and building of a new bungalow four, miles from Crystal Springs, and was taken from there to Jackson the day before his death, which followed an operation. Mr. Furr leaves a widow, Mrs. Dorsia Irby Furr, two daughters, Mrs. E. E. Miers, Crystal Springs and Miss Excell Furr, a son, Mr. Louis Furr, and two brothers of Wesson and one of Picayune. Among the large number from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ivy, Messrs. George and Foss Ivy of Nola, Mrs. Arthur White of Jackson, Mr. Luther Ivy of Brookhaven, Mrs. C. L. Ivy, Mrs. M. T. Smith and Miss Gharlotte Ivy of Brookhaven, Mr. Furr of Picayune. Mr. Furr was in the prime of his splendid life, being about 60 years of age. His vacant place in the home, in the church and in his community will be deplored through many years to come. His memory is immortal.
