Death
GAINESVILLE, Ga., May 16. — Funeral services for Mrs. John Campbell McConnell, 79, beloved Gainesville woman, who died Saturday night at her home here, were held Monday afternoon from the residence, conducted by Dr. Roland Q. Leavell, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment was in Alta Vista Cemetery. Mrs. McConnell was born and reared in Habersham County, but had made her home in Gainesville over forty years. She was a member of the Baptist Church, and had been actively identified in all its affairs. She was a leader in civic and social circles, and in local club work. Her husband, Mr. John C. McConnell, who preceded her to the grave several years, was head of a large wholesale house here. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. W. A. Roper, Mrs. C. A. Rudolph and Mrs. W. J. Carter, of this city; Mrs. Rachel Henderson, of Cartersville; Mrs. S. G. Riley, of Raleigh, N. C., and one son, Leonard McConnell, of Miami, Fla.The Atlanta Journal, Atlanta, Georgia, May 16, 1932
