Death
LOCUST -- Etta Frances Hall Furr, 87, of 111 Jenkins St., Locust, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at Britthaven of Piedmont. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mill Grove United Methodist Church in Midland. Burial will follow at Mill Grove United Methodist Cemetery. The Rev. Arval Rushing and Dr. Kinney Wallace will officiate. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the home at 111 Jenkins St. Locust. Born Feb. 14, 1914, in St. Cloud Fla., she was the daughter of the late William Clarence and Maude Lee Hulin Hall. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Locust. She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Dewitt Furr and a son Lowery Dewey Furr. Survivors include, two sons, Jan Furr of Locust, and Bill Furr of Mint Hill, two daughters, Betty Furr Hartsell of Locust, and Sylvia F. Bowers of Stanfield, two sisters, Ruth H. Almond of Albemarle, and Lucille H. Furr of Albemarle, 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.Endnotes
