Death
ALBEMARLE — Albert F. Furr, 78, of Route 4, Albemarle, died Friday at his home. Born March 22, 1863, in Stanly County to the late Riley and Maggie Eudy Furr, he was a veteran of World War I and a retired farmer and textile worker. Surviving are his wife, Sarah Eudy Furr; five sons, Roy, James and Gurley Furr, all of Route 3, Albemarle, Clayton Furr of Route 4, Albemarle, and Johnny Brown Furr of Rockingham; one daughter, Mrs. Coolidge Almond of Route 3, Albemarle; 17 grandchildren;16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Lonnie V. Furr of Route 3, Albemarle, and Paul Furr of Route 1, Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Singleton of Valdese, Mrs. Clara Connell of Route 3, Albemarle, and Mrs Dora Lambert of Route 1, New London. Funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Cliff Allen and the Rev. Jamie Morton officiating. The body will remain at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today.Endnotes
