Death
Mrs. Charlotte Furr Darby, age 65, of Brunswick, Georgia, formerly of Charlotte, went home to her Lord and Savior on November 22, 2002. Mrs. Darby was born in Charlotte on May 4, 1937 to the late Lemuel Rufus Furr and the late Isabelle Johnson Furr of Charlotte. She graduated from Charlotte's Central High School, Class of 1955 and was a prized employee of Dr. Ervin Funderburke, DDS for several years. In Brunswick, she was a very valuable and helpful employee for a realator on St. Simon's Island in a job she truly loved until retirement. She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 46 years, Mr. Dewey Addison Darby of the home; daughter, Carol Darby Brown and four grandchildren, Ruth, Paul, Daniel and Samuel, all of Georgia; a son, Michael Addison Darby of Little Rock, Arkansas; brothers, Herman L. Furr of Charlotte and Jimmy J. Furr and wife, Betty of Mt. Holly; sisters, Nancy Furr Wilson and husband David of Mint Hill, NC and Faye Furr Williams and husband Walter of Indian Trail, NC; and a great number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, L.R. Furr, Jr. of Charlotte, NC and Bobby V. Furr, also of Charlotte, and sisters, Margaret Furr Smith of Charlotte and Jean Furr Vallandingham of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
