Death
Mr. Lemuel Rufus Furr, Jr., age 50, of 3210 Dublin Road, died Saturday, April 16, 1983, in Presbyterian Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday at The Church of Jesus Christ on 36th Street, conducted by the Rev. Alvin Baker of Morganton, NC and Mr. Markel Hostetler. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. Mr. Furr was born November 19, 1932 in Charlotte, son of Mrs. Isabelle Johnson Furr and the late Lemuel Rufus Furr, Sr. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ on 36th Street, a Veteran of the Korean War, and owner of Furr Realty, Inc. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Peggy P. Furr; three sons, Lemuel Rufus Furr, III, Donald Lee Furr and Randy Allan Furr, all of Charlotte; one daughter, Mrs. Donna Jean Sherrill of Charlotte; his mother, Mrs. Isabelle J. Furr of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Crystal Dawn Furr, Lemuel Rufus Furr, IV, Donald Lee Furr, Jr., Stephanie Ann Rowe, David Allan Furr, Stephen Joel Rowe, Jr. and Darrell Lance Furr, all of Charlotte; three brothers, Herman Furr, Bobby V. Furr and Jimmy J. Furr, all of Charlotte; five sisters, Mrs. Jean Vallandingham of White Sulphur Springs, W. VA, Mrs. Charlotte F. Darby of Brunswick, GA, Mrs. Margaret Smith, Mrs. Faye Williams and Mrs. Nancy Wilson, all of Charlotte; three half-brothers, Archie L. Hargett, Jerry R. Hargett and Harvey J.
