Death

ROCK HILL, S.C. — James H. Furr, local motel and restaurant operator, died Thursday in York General Hospital. Furr, 52, had suffered a heart attack Oct. 17. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greene Funeral Chapel. Furr operated the Town House Motel and the Golden Horn Restaurant here. Last fall he ran unsuccessfully as one of five candidates for two City Council seats. Furr was a member of the American Legion, Sertoma Club and the Rock Hill Chamber of Commerce. He attended St. John’s Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife; two sons, James H. Furr III of Rock Hill and Danny R. Furr of Columbia; his mother, Mrs. Ada N. Furr of Rock Hill; a brother, Ernest Furr of Aiken; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Williams of Atlanta and Mrs. Alethia Mitchell of Warner Robins, Ga. Rock Hill — James H. Furr Jr., 52, of Rock Hill died Thursday in a local hospital. He was owner and manager of the Town House Motel in Rock Hill. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Ann Butler Furr; his mother, Mrs. Ada Mae Williams Furr of Rock Hill; two sons, James Furr Ill of Rock Hill and Danny R. Furr of Columbia; a brother, Ernest Furr of Aiken; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Williams of Atlanta and Mrs. Alethia Mitchell of Warner Robins, Ga. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Greene Funeral Home.
