Death
Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 a. m. at Mill Grove Methodist church for O. B. Furr, 63, father of Dewey D. Furr of Albemarle. Mr. Furr, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philas Furr of Cabarrus county, died Thursday afternoon in a Charlotte hospital. He was a resident of Midland. He was a Standard Oil distributor for Esso products for 35 years and was a member of the Union Lodge 618 of Midland. He was married to the former Neta Garmon and was a member of Mill Grove church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Troy J. Furr of Greensboro, and Dewey D. Furr of Albemarle; six grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters. The body lay in state for 30 minutes prior to the services on Saturday morning. Members of the Union Lodge conducted graveside services.
