Death
Mr. Alberta B. Furr of 1916 E. Independence Blvd. passed away Monday June 25, 1973 in a local hospital. He recently retired having been associated with the Charlotte Observer for thirty-six years. He was born June 20, 1903, in Albemarle, N.C. son of the late William Furr and Margaret Green Furr. He was a member of The Commonwealth United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 1973, at The Harry and Bryant Chapel in the Oaks conducted by the Rev. Ray Swink of Albemarle, N.C. and the Rev. Frank Edwards Commonwealth United Methodist Church. Interment to be in Sharon Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Milton; two sons, James H. Furr of Charlotte and Carl M. Furr of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, one great grandchild; one brother, James A. Furr of Albemarle, N. C. Active pallbearers will be Bill Vita, Bill McKinnon, Lemuel Cowick, Oscar Burgess, Wayne Chaplain, Collin Tiesort.The Charlotte News, Charlotte, North Carolina, June 27, 1973
