Marriage

Miss Pearl Furr and Harry Sechler were married Wednesday evening at 6 o’clock at the home of Rev. A. G. Loftin, on North Church street. Mr. Loftin performing the ceremony. Mrs. Sechlar is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Furr, who live on the Kannapolis road. Mr. Sechler is a resident of Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Sechler left this morning for Florida, where they will make their home.

Death

KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be Tuesday for Pearl Furr Sechler, 92, 402 Eddleman Road, who died Saturday (Aug. 30, 1997) at Concord Nursing Center. Born Jan. 21, 1905, in Kannapolis, Mrs. Sechler was the daughter of the late James A. and Florence Idella Furr Furr. A retired school teacher and homemaker, she was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. Her husband, Harry Andrew Sechler, died in 1975. Survivors include son Charles G. Sechler, Kannapdlis; daughter Louise Crook, Kannapolis; sister Laura McGee Chandler, Concord; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. A. Glenn Boland, the Rev. Timothy Rall and the Rev. Hoke H. Ritchie. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation: 7-9 p.m. tonight, Lady’s Funeral Home.
