Death
Eugene Brown “Cat” Furr, 69, of 2474 Dakota St., Stanfield, died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 1996, in the V.A. Hospital in Salisbury. His funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Midland. The Rev. Ray Rippy officiated and burial was in Coyle Baptist Church Cemetery. Born July 5, 1926, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Bessie Walters Furr and was a service station attendant for Service Distributing of Midland. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran and a member of Coyle Baptist Church. He is survived by four brothers, Joe Lee Furr of Charlotte, Ephriam Furr of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Charlie Barbee of Concord and Lon Furr of Oakboro; four sisters, Sarah Love of Concord, and Clara Hatley, Mable Hartsell and Brenda Morgan, all of Stanfield.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, April 21, 1996
