Death
MOUNT HOLLY, Oct, 12 — Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Dry Furr, 87, will be conducted at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Furr, widow of Martin L. Furr, died last night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. S. T. Lineberger, in Greenville, S. C. She had been in declining health for a year. Mrs. Furr was a member of a prominent North Carolina family, having been Miss Catherine Dry priory to her marriage in 1869. She was active in affairs of the Lutheran church here. Surviving are four sons and two daughters, W. C. Furr of Stanfield, B. Z. Furr and L. F. Furr of Charlotte, C. M. Furr of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. S. T. Lineberger of Greenville, and Mrs. Hugh A. Michael of Mount Holly. Three brothers and a sister also survive, Jacob Dry, Monroe Dry, and George Dry, and Mrs. James Efird, all of this state.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, October 13, 1934
