Death
Harry W. Furr, 47, of 3014) Carol Ave., passed away Saturday night in a local hospital. He was born April 23, 1914 in Concord, N. C., his parents the late M. F. and Annie Fisher Furr. He owned and operated the Furr Oil Co. Mr. Furr was a member of Glenwood ARP Church, serving as elder, and was active in Explorer Scouts Post No. 23. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Carol Deane Charles Furr; a daughter, Susan Carol of the home; 2 sons, Charles D. of the home and Michael W. Furr, Charlotte; a sister, Mrs. Beulah Cox, Lincolnton; 5 brothers, Dr. W. E. Furr, Franklin, Roy W. Arthur and Frank Furr, all of Concord, Howard Furr, Kannapolis; and 1 grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock this morning from the McEwen West Chapel with the Rev. W. Nalle Falls, former pastor, Glenwood ARP Church, officiating. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Active and honorary pallbearers will be elders and deacons of the church. Explorer Scouts, Post No. 23, will also serve as honorary pallbearers.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, November 27, 1961
