Death
Rock Hill, SC – Susan Furr Whisonant, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2024. She was 76 years old. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. Susan was born in Charlotte NC on August 6, 1947 to the late Harry Wilson Furr and Carol Charles Furr. She was also predeceased by her husband Darryl Whisonant, and son Jason Whisonant, both of Rock Hill. Susan attended Harding High School in Charlotte NC, where she was Miss Harding of 1965. Susan was not just beautiful on the outside, but was more so on the inside. She was a stay at home mom who devoted her life to her family. Anyone who met Susan would know just how special she was. Susan loved watching football, cooking, shopping, and driving her convertible. Most of all though, Susan loved putting other people ahead of herself, and spending time with her children and grand-children. Susan is survived by her son Chad Whisonant and wife Sarah Whisonant of Fort Mill, daughter Heather Whisonant of Rock Hill, daughter Hayley Whisonant and fiancee' Bobby Laster of Rock Hill, daughter in law Shana Morton of Rock Hill, and brother Charlie Furr of Huntersville, N.C. She was a grandmother to her 8 loving Grand-children, Seth, Andrew, Layla, Jackson, Bentley, Noah, Luke, and Chevy.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Susan's name to the American Liver Foundation at https://liverfoundation.org.
