Death
Joseph Surgeon Furr, 72, of 201 Sunset Drive, Rock Hill, died this morning at the York County Hospital after an illness of several months. He was born and reared in Rock Hill, son of the late Dolphus and Alice Scott Furr, natives of Rock Hill. He was married July 5, 1914, to Lula Hendrick of Rock Hill. He was employed for a number of years at the Victoria Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1954. Survivors included his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Leo Baker of Rock Hill. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at p.m. from the chapel of Bass Funeral Home by Rev: Milford Vaughn. Burial will be in Laurelwood Cemetery.The Herald, Rock Hill, South Carolina, December 20, 1962
