Death
Robert Furr, 57, died early this morning at a Rock Hill hospital after an illness of several months. Funeral services will be held from the West End Baptist Church tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. A. G. Todd, pastor, and the Rev. W. T. Furr of Shelby, N. C. Interment will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery. Mr. Furr was born and reared in York County, the son of the late Dolph Furr and Mrs. Alice Scott Furr. He had lived all of his life in and near Rock Hill. Up until the time of his retirement several months ago, he was engaged in the trucking and taxi business. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Addie Furr; two step-children, Mrs. Willie Mae Bailey of York and Mrs. Etta Whitehurst of Rock Hill; and two brothers, Joe Furr and Jess Furr, both of Rock Hill. The body will remain at Bass Funeral Home until the hour of the service.The Herald, Rock Hill, South Carolina, December 23, 1948
