CLINTON — James E. Furr, 67, of Route 1, Smallwood Community, died of natural causes June 12, 1988, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood. He was a retired insurance salesman with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Claudia Boyce Furr of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Judge (Jimmie) Vaughan of Greenwood and Mrs. J.E. (Martha) Buchanan of Pelzer; and a brother, Olin F. Furr of Clinton. Graveside services: 4 p.m. Tuesday in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Gray Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Educational Building Fund, First Baptist Church, Clinton, S.C.
