Notes
Death
CLINTON — Funeral services for C. Ted Furr will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow in the First Baptist Church. Mr. Furr, 21, died Wednesday. He was a native of Clinton, a son of James E. and Claudia Boyce Furr. He formerly attended Spartanburg Junior College and was an employe (sic) of Torrington Co. Surviving are his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Judge Vaughan of Del Ray Beach, Fla., and Miss Martha Furr of the home; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Carrie Boyce of Joanna; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Furr of Clinton. Gray Funeral Home is in charge. Laurens County Coroner Marshall N. Pressley said Mr. Furr came home from work Wednesday and left the house with his .38-cal. pistol. When he did not return home late Wednesday night, Pressley said the young man’s parents began searching for him and found him in his car in a rural area about five miles north of Clinton. The coroner said the victim had been shot in the head with his own pistol. Pressley said an investigation is continuing. The Columbia Record, Columbia, South Carolina, March 26, 1971
