Death
Gautier – Jones Bernard Furr Sr. of Gautier died Thursday, March 24, 1988 in Pascagoula. Mr. Furr was a retired civil engineer in soil conservation with the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and captain of the Corp of Engineers from 1942 until 1953. An Army veteran of World War II, he was awarded the American Campaign Victory Medal. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Gautier. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Walker Furr of Gautier: a son, J.B. Furr of Gautier; a daughter, Mrs. Clare Furr Depasquale of New Orleans; a sister, Lela Mae Furr of Gulfport; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, where friends may call one hour before service time.
