PORT GIBSON, Miss. — Isaac Newton Furr, 86, died at the Claiborne County Hospital early this morning after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Furr was a prominent resident of Hermanville and had lived there for approximately thirty years. He was a native resident of Claiborne county and a retired farmer. He leaves three sons, M. M. Furr of Aberdeen; J. B. Furr of Meridian; Major W. W. Furr of the U. S. Air Force at Las Vegas; three daughters, Mrs. Florence Auter of Vicksburg; Mrs. Everett West of Hattiesburg and Miss Lena Mae Furr of Hermanville; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa West of Union Church and Mrs. Archie McBride of Crystal Springs: two grandsons, four granddaughters and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Hermanville Baptist Church, of which he was a member, Thursday afternoon at 2:30. The body will be at the church for an hour prior to that time. The Rev. L. P. Petty, pastor, will officiate at the services, assisted by the Rev. E. B. Smith of the Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Hermanville Cemetery with Guion Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers will be Darden Batland, Edwin Alderman, Robert Wade, Hugh Coen, Johnnie Frank Trim, W. E. Hays, R. M. Barlow , and J. W. Porter. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of the Hermanville Baplist Church; Dr. D. M. Segrest; and Dr. Carl Horn.The Vicksburg Post, Vicksburg, Mississippi, May 13, 1953
