Death

Mrs. Florence F. Auter, 79, died unexpectedly Friday at her home, 1817 Edna Drive. Born in Claiborne County, Mrs. Auter had lived in Vicksburg for the past 59 years. She was the widow of Capt. Henry F. Auter. She was a retired employe (sic) of the Fisher Burial Association, having retired ten years ago. Mrs. Auter was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Acacia Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Vicksburg and Warren County Historical Society. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Charles L. Amborn Sr., of Vicksburg; one son, Henry F. Auter of Picayune, Miss.; 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Lela Mae Furr and Mrs. Ed West, both of Hattiesburg; two brothers, J. Bernard Furr of Pascagoula and Woodrow W. Furr of Gulfport. Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. William F. Mansell, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Thompson, S. T. Barnes, John Bunch, Joe Ross, Oscar LaBarre, J. C. Dooley, Iley Behr and Wallace Jacobson.
