Census (family)
Living with Harry G. and Claribel E. Potvin, in the hotel run by Poitvin. Harry Poitvin is described as the proprietor not only of the hotel (Charlie's old hotel?), but also the movie theater. Vina worked part-time as a cashier at the theater, but Ed, age 80, seems to have been retired. My first guess would be that Claribel was Ed and Vina's daughter, but the census describes their relationship to the head of the household, Harry Poitvin, as uncle-in-law and aunt-in-law. I'm sure this was an error. Apparently, Ed passed on the ownership and management ofthe hotel and theater to his daughter and son-in-law. Harry and Claribel were both 31 years old, and had been born in Minnesota. They had two daughters: Sally, age 5, and Jo Ann, age 4 and 1/2.Vina and Ed had lived in the same house in 1935. The Potvins had lived in the "same place" -- meaning Cass Lake -- but not the same house, in 1935.
