Funeral services for Mathias Servatius, 88, who died Sunday at the home of his grandson, George Servatius, 422 Island avenue, will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at the McAllister-Julian funeral home, 304 North 5th street. The Rev. O. Garfield Beckstrand will officiate, and burial will be in Cedar Bluff cemetery. Mr. Servatius was born March 13, 1848 in Alsace-Lorraine. He lived in Rockford for 55 years. Prior to his retirement several years ago he was engaged in the carpenter contracting business. He is survived by two sons, Fred of Rockford, and Joe of Tampa, Fla., three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
