Those taking part include Mrs. Chance, Mrs. Flora England, Mrs. Lucille Shepherd, Miss Joy Grant, Miss Marie Rhudy, and Miss Virginia Shepard [Shepherd].
Obituary from the Cecil Whig, at Cecil Maryland, August 13, 1986: Virginia A. Shepherd, of North East, a retired Du Pont Co., credit department supervisor, died of an apparent heart attack Aug. 10, 1986 in Union Hospital. She was 75. Miss Shepherd was born in West Virginia April 2, 1911. She worked in the credit department of the Du Pont Co., in Wilmington, Del. for 25 years. She was supervisor of the department for more than 10 years before retiring around 1976. She lived in the county most of her life. Survivors include her brother, James E., and a sister, Georgia Biddle, both of North East. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 13 in the Crouch Funeral Home, 127 S. Main St., North East. The Rev. Norma O. Bailey of St. John's United Methodist Church, Charlestown, will officiate. Burial will be in the North East Methodist Cemetery.
