At her home northwest of Huron, Mrs. Godfred Haas fell peacefully to sleep after a long illness of cancer of the liver, may 10th, 1914, at the age of 53 years, 8 months, 3 days. The deceased, whose maiden name was Helena C. Elliott was born at Jamestown, Wisconsin, September 17th, 1860, and united in marriage January 4th, 1881.
She leaves to mourn her loss a husband and six children; five daughters and one son, mother, one sister and a brother. A loving wife and mother, from us has gone. To know her was to love her. A loving spirit that kept the world brother, even after she knew a change was imminent and that she must speedily pass to rest the promise of future life. She hath done what she could; her life's work is ended.
At her request the 14th chapter of St. John was read by Rev. A. E. Buriff. The funeral services were held from the home, interment to Riverside cemetery.
