Lorena Laura Kirkpatrick, known as 'Rena' was born 14 January 1889 at Hamilton, Hancock County, Illinois, and died 28 April 1971 at Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa. She married Silas Saxton Heston, son of Eber Howe and Emma Heston on 19 December 1906. Heston was born 29 November 1881 at Gardner, New York and died 9 October 1974 at Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa.
There were six (6) children born of the marriage.
Obituary provided by Keokuk Public Library, Keokuk, Iowa: Lorena L. Heston, 82, of 608 Concert died at 7 a.m. Wednesday in her home. She had been in failing health for the past year. She was the daughter of the late William W. and Laura Z. Dodge Kirkpatrick, born on January 14, 1889 in Hamilton. She married Silas Saxton Heston on December 19, 1906 at Tecumseh, Nebraska. Mrs. Heston had been a resident of Keokuk for the past 58 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Surviving besides her husband are four sons, Robert S., Eber W., Arthur P. and L. G. (Joe) Heston all of Keokuk; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Dougherty of Keokuk; one brother, Myron S. Kirkpatrick of Grand Rapids, Michigan; three sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Donnelly of Keokuk, Mrs. Florence Williams of Columbia, Missouri, and Ms. Daisy Boggs of Burbank, California; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Doris in 1927 and four brothers. Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Schmidt Memorial Home with Associate Pastor George Edwards officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood cemetery.
