The Oregonian, Portland, Oregon, Sunday, January 6, 1952, Page 15, Col. 1: Mrs. Nellie Belle Finely, 83, 948 S. E. 14th avenue, died Thursday in a Portland hospital. Services will be at Colonial mortuary at 1 p.m. Monday, with the ladies of the Order of Amaranth officiating. Mrs. Finely was born August 28, 1868, in McComb City, Ill., and moved to Portland from Denver in 1919. She was a member of the War Mother's club, Portland Chapter No. 97, OES, Colonial court No. 5, Order of Amaranth, and Oregonian Rose camp No. 1881, Royal Neighbors of America. Surviving are the widower, John C. Finely, three sons, Benjamin M. Finely, Denver, Colo.; John C. Finley Jr. and Bert P. Finley, Vancouver, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. N. Gladys Lehman, Portland, and Mrs. Winnie B. McCasland, Denver; two sisters in Illinois, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. [A photo of Nellie is with the obituary].
