Mary Ann Briscoe

Obituary from The Iowa Recorder newspaper at Greene, Butler Co., Iowa, 20 May 1914. Mary Ann Briscoe was born in St. Joe County, Indiana, April 3, 1834 and died in Greene, Iowa May 15, 1914, at the ripe age of 80 years, 1 month and 12 days. In 1848 she was married to Mr. Button. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Melvina Packman of Webster City, Iowa, now deceased and Mrs. Roe of St. Paul, Minn., who survives her. In 1853 she was united in marriage to Mr. Guido Craft. One daughter was born to them, Mrs. Henrietta Reynolds of this city. In 1862 she married Mr. David Reams, in Albert Lea, Minn., who survives her. Mrs. Reams united with the United Brethren in Christ church about forty years ago, and later having removed to Marble Rock, Iowa, and there being no church of her choice there, she joined the Baptist church of that place, in which communion she remained to the end. The funeral was held from the home on Second street on Sabbath afternoon, conducted by Rev. L. L. Lockard. Miss Grace Ellis and Mrs. C. H. Bunker furnishing appropriate music and the body was interred in Rose Hill cemetery.
