Myrtle M Lamb

Myrtle Curtice, 98, died Nov. 22, 1991, at Cozad. She was born in a sod house June 26, 1893, at Willow island to Bige and Mary Roland [Rowland] Lamb. She attended rural schools and later a dressmaking school at Gothenburg. She lived in various area family homes, taking care of their sewing and dressmaking needs. Dec. 31, 1924, she married Guy Curtice and they resided on a farm near Smithfield before moving to a farm at Willow Island. Mrs. Curtice was preceded in death by her husband in 1983; a daughter, Mary Etta; a brother Vollard; and two sisters, Gussie Thomison and Estie Miller. She was a member of Army Mothers and Lucerne Valley Club. She is survived by two sons, Harold Jr. and wife Lee of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Archie and wife Alice of Cozad; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established to the Cozad Public Library. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of Christ on Newell street with Jim Henry officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery north of Willow Island. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. today at Berryman Funeral Home at Cozad which is in charge of arrangements.
