Enoch Abiga Lamb

E. A. Lamb was born January 7, 1856, and passed from this life January 3, 1939, at his home in Willow Island, Nebr., being at the time of death 82 years, 11 months and 27 days old. He was married to Mary Rowland on the 10th day of January, 1883, at DeWitt, Nebr., and in the spring of the same year they moved to the farm near Willow Island where they continued to make their home through the years of their married life. Six years ago they celebrated a their fiftieth wedding anniversary and three years later death called the wife and mother of the home. Mr. and Mrs. Lamb were among the earliest settlers of this vicinity,, purchasing the homestead rights of the farm they made their home, and facing with their neighbors and friends the good and the bad years, but remaining through them all in the confidence that this was a good place to dwell and call home.

His wife having preceded him in death, he leaves to mourn his passing a step-daughter, Mrs. Gussie Thomason of Cozad, two daughters, Mrs. Estia Kingsley of Cozad, and Mrs. Myrtle Curtiss of Willow Island, and one son, Vollard Lamb of Willow Island, together with 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Davis Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon, Rev. Almond officiating. Mrs. Wayne Davis sang "Going Down the Valley" and Sometime We Will Understand." Mrs. Glenn Mi----accompanied her on the piano. Grandsons of Mr. Lamb acted as pallbearers.Interment was made in the Grandview Cemetery, northwest of Cozad. Grand View Cemetery Gothenburg Nebraska.
