La Crosse Tribune, La Crosse, Wisonsin, Friday, December 28, 1990: Viola M. Huber, 65, of 1405 Caledonia St., died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 1990, at her home. She was born Oct. 26, 1925, to Than and Alice (Bergan) Hammond in Clayton, Iowa. She is survived by four daughters, Patty (Dean) Dilley of La Crosse, Becky (Russell) Phillips of Independence, Iowa, Susan (Dick) Worth of Postville, Iowa, Judy (Rick) Hoffman of Bangor, Wis.; three sons, James (Rose) Bursell of La Crescent, Minn., Lawrence (Coreine) Gordon of Independence, Iowa, Ray (Debbie) Gordon of Fayette, Iowa; 30 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond Hammond of Independence, Iowa, Leo Hammond of Postville, Iowa, LeRoy Hammond of Drysville, Iowa; three sisters, Velma Phillips of Lime Springs, Iowa, Bernita Houtideck [Houdek] of Cresco, Iowa, and Sylvia Shob [Schaub] of Guttenburg, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, 1990, at 1 p.m. in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Hwys. 16 and 157. Mr. David Bice will officiate, and burial will be in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Saturday from noon until time of service. Nelson-Woodruff-Blaschke Funeral Home, La Crosse, is in charge of arrangements.
