Sandusky Record, Sandusky, Ohio, Saturday, May 18, 2002, Page 6, Cols. 3 & 4: Ruth Janney Reser Bateman, age 94, a longtime resident of Monroeville and Sandusky, died early Thursday morning in Parkvue Health Care Center. She was born July 22, 1907, in Northeast, Maryland, and had been employed by the former Forester China Company in Sandusky for ten years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sandusky, Monroeville Chapter 438 of the Order of Eastern Stars, of which she was a Past Matron and Monroeville Garden Club. She is survived by two sons, Richard Reser of Monroeville and David (Janet) Reser of Fairview Park, OH; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Eunice Chase of Florida, and Mrs. Doris White of Sandusky. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard F. Reser, in 1966; her second husband, Otis Bateman in 1992; her parents, Ernest and Debra (Alexander) Biddle; two sisters, Edith Hitchcock and Helen Young; and four brothers, her twin Raymond Walter Hayes, and Carroll Biddle. Friends may call on Monday, May 20, from 10 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.m. in the Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky with Pastor bonnie Sparks of Parkvue officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Huron, Memorial contributions may be made to Parkvue Health Care Center, 3800 Boardwalk Blvd., Sandusky, Oh 44870.
