Louisa "Lulu" Viola Kirkpatrick

Obituary submitted by Freda Sullivan Tucker from unknown newspaper. Mrs. Coleman Bennett, well-known Greenville resident, and native Wayne Countian, died Sunday at the Poplar Bluff Hospital, at the age of 77 years. Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 at the New Prospect Church on Bounds Creek, the Rev. L. A. Davis conducting the service. Soloist for the funeral was Glendell Twidwell with Leah Greer piano accompanist. Burial was in the Bounds Creek Cemetery under direction of the Gish Funeral Home of Greenville. The following obituary was read at the funeral services. Louisa Viola Bennett, daughter of Andrew J. and Sarah Emily Dupree Kirkpatrick, was born at Kime, near Greenville on February 15, 1882 and died in Poplar Bluff, Dec. 1959 at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 12 days. On November 26, 1899 she was united in marriage to Coleman B. Bennett and to this union nine children were born. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Coleman Bennett of Greenville, seven sons, Clarence Alvin, Glen Edward, Homer Cecil. and William Paul all of Greenville, Newt Bradford of Silva, Mayard Coleman of Weatherford, Texas, Alton Wayne of Bloomsdale, Mo. and three daughters Gusta Mae Bennett of St. Louis, Mrs. Lola Parton of Aurora, Colo. and Mrs. Violet Williams of Greenville. She also leaves 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, one brother, Joe Kirkpatrick, of Piedmont; one sister Ada Allen of Silva, and a host of other relatives and friends. At an early age, Mrs. Bennett professed her faith in Christ and united with the Bounds Creek Missionary Baptist church.
