"Pension Granted Civil War Widow"
Mrs. Emily Twidwell was given $1,800.00 and $30 per month. Emily Dupree married Thomas P. Williams on March 16th 1864, a Union Soldier in the Civil War. He died February 2nd 1875. He is buried in the Old Union Cemetery at Greenville. They had one daughter, Lillie, (Mrs. James) Kendricks of Des Arc, MO.
Emily married (2) Andrew J. Kirkpatrick, 22nd of February about 1877, the father of Frank, Charles, and James, sons of a previous marriage. Andrew and Emily had Adah, (Mrs. Wm. Allen) of Greenville; Viola L. (Mrs. Coleman) Bennett of Patterson; Minerva Judith, (Mrs. James) Collins, who predeceased her mother c1906; Joseph and Melissa E. (Mrs. Raney) Allen who also predeceased her mother, c1907. Andrew died 27th of August 1890 and is buried at New Prospect Cemetery.
Note: Mrs. Emily Williams-Kirkpatrick married Rev. A.G. Twidwell, March 7th, 1895 and he died the 9th of March 1909, and is buried at New Prospect Cemetery..
