Funeral services for Homer Cecil Bennett, 52, who died in Columbia, MO., on June 3, were held June 6 at New Prospect Church with L.A. Davis officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Debbie Hershey, Mrs. Leah Greer, and Mrs. Dollie Twidwell. Pallbearers were Hollis Rainwater, Paul Montgomery, Eugene Bennett, Keith McDowell, Willis Costephens, and Garvel Montgomery. Burial was in New Prospect Cemetery, Gish-Bowles Service. Mr. Bennett was the son of Coleman and Louisa Kirkpatrick Bennett. He was born near Patterson on October 2, 1913. In 1935 he was united in marriage to Elsie McGee and to this union one child was born. Surviving are his daughter, Ruth Frances of Mountain View, MO., and five grandchildren.He also leaves five brothers, Alvin, Glen, and Bill all of Greenville; Maynard of Weatherford, Tex., Wayne of Mexico, MO., three sisters, Gusta Bennett of Lodi, Lola Parton of Aurora, Colo., Violet Williams of St. Louis, and other relatives and friends.
