From Jane Grubbs, August 2017: Grundy's son Levi ran a medicine show before he worked in the factory. He married a Snider and his grandmother was a Snider. Grundy's mother was Mary Polly Snider. After they moved to Granite City, his son Jerome would go down to Franklin County in the summer's to be with his cousins.
Christopher Progress, Christopher, Illinois, Thursday, July 24, 1941, Front Page, Col. 1: Levi H. Kirkpatrick Died at Granite City. Levi H. Kirkpatrick, 65, died at Granite City Sunday morning from a paralytic stroke. He was a brother of Mrs. Barney Rentfro of Mulkeytown. The body was brought to her home, where it was held until the funeral services Wednesday. The deceased was also a brother of Mrs. Orlen Burkitt of this city. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the First Christian church in Mulkeytown, with Rev. Marsolf officiating. Interment took place in the Mulkeytown cemetery.
Probate Court note from The Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Illinois, 27 August 1941, "Levi H. Kirkpatrick, deceased, proof of death intestate. Proof of heirship made. Ordered letters issue to J. W. Kirkpatrick. Inventory approved. Claim date first Monday of October.
