In the newspaper, The Iowa Recorder of Greene (Butler Co.) Iowa January 7, 1903: Joe Brisco and son Clifton left Tuesday for Parsons, Kansas where Mr. Brisco has bought a farm. Joe likes the country down there and may decide to move.

San Luis Obispo Daily Telegram, San Luis Obispo, California, August 21, 1933, Page 3, Col. 4: Death Takes Josiah Brisco. Josiah S. Brisco, well known resident of San Luis Obispo, passed away Saturday afternoon. For the past 12 years he had been a rancher in the Arroyo Grande valley, retiring two years ago and moving to San Luis Obispo to make his home. He was born in Greene, Iowa, Sept. 2, 1863 and was 69 years old at the time of passing. Mr. Brisco is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Alice B. Engel of Minneapolis and two sons, Clifford J. Brisco of Minneapolis and Verne C. Brisco, well known in San Luis Obispo. One sister, Mrs. Herman Swain, and a brother, Frank Brisco of Minnesota, also survive. The remains will lie in state at the R. F. Richardson Funeral home until Tuesday morning when graveside services will be held at 10 o'clock at the Arroyo Grande cemetery. Rev. Harold Baker of the San Luis Obispo Methodist church will conduct last rites. Commitment services will be held and interment made in the family plot.
