On the 1910 U. S. Census of Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo Co., California, Charles A. Brisco appears with his wife Etta A., son Leo A. and grand daughter Merietta Lathrop, age 1 year 5 months. Charles is a farmer. Leo is a teamster working out.
On the 1920 U. S. Census of Craighill Township, Kings Co., California, Charles appears with his wife Etta and daughter Mary E. age 11. Charles is a cattle rancher. Also in the household is Charles Hoffman listed as partner in cattle ranch. They have a boarder Effie Converse who is a public school teacher. Etta is postmistress.
Notice in the Iowa Recorder, Greene, Iowa, November 26, 1924: Charles A. Brisco Dead. A copy of the Herald-Recorder, published at Arrayo, California, at hand conveys the news of the death of Charles A. Brisco, a prominent resident of that place and that section of California for 25 years. Deceased died suddenly from heart disease on November 3d. Mr. Brisco in the years he was in California built up a fortune in the cattle business on his big ranch. He also was in the oil business after oil was discovered there. He was a brother of Joe and Bob Brisco, and went from Iowa to California.
