Clementine Briscoe

Appleton Press, Appleton, Wisconsin, October 10, 1941: Mrs. Clementine Swain died on Sunday, Oct. 5, at her home in Hegbert township at the age of 83 years, two months, and 15 days. Clemetine Briscoe was the daughter of John and Adaline Briscoe, born July 21, 1858, in Allamkee county, Iowa, one of 14 children. She was united in marriage to Harmon W. Swain Sept. 27, 1883. They made their home in Floyd county, Iowa, until February, 1914, when they moved to Minnesota. After living on a farm near Holloway for a few years, they moved to the vicinity of Appleton, where they lived on several different farms, moving to their home in Hegbert about three years ago. Her husband preceded her in death in 1916. Surviving are three children, Mrs. E. A. Fox, of Clontarf, and Jasper and Daisy, at home; one brother, Frank of Grasston; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:15 p.m. at the home Wednesday and at 2 p.m. from the church. Rev. D. T. Beadle officiated and interment was in the Appleton cemetery. Pall bearers were M. H. Cunningham, Fred Nielson, Herman Kohlman, Albert Hill, L. R. Bruner and Louis Perry.
